The Sculptress
Minette Walters is a new author to me. I liked her style and also that the mystery was much weirder than what I usually read. Some of the story lines were disappointing - she really didn't need to fall in love with Sergeant Hawksley. It was more interesting when they were attracted to each other, but got on each other's last nerve. I did like the ending, because I was not totally convinced that Olive hadn't killed her mother and Amber. Although, I did not like siding with the lazy self-centered solicitor Crew. I liked it enough to read more by MW. Bethie

Hey I forgot to create a title the first time ... whew ... now there is a title!
how did the time slip by? ... if only I had purchased the very first books in Miss Grafton's series my retirement portfolio would be REALLY worth something ... but I started buying around "E" and continue to buy each title ... which of course is not to say I have read each one ... I might have stopped reading around "N" ... anyway my thoughts about "U" are that Grafton really created the 1960s, so believable ... but when I spotted a clue -- which I seldom do -- I was a bit disappointed ... there was a moment when one of the "mothers" tell Kinsey something about hearing a motor scooter the day the little girl disappeared ... "wait" I said ... "didn't I just read a few pages ago about one of those creepy teenagers owning a scooter"? ... maybe the story idea was that all the clues were right out there and it was more about why ... also I was a wee bit disappointed that the story line of the older hunky guy down the road from Santa Barbara/Theresa whose son owned the wolf went no where with regards to him hooking up with Kinsey ... surely there could have been time to develop that!!!!! ... will of course always read and it is only the anal retentive librarian side of me that continues to purchase

Combo Post: new book and Project Runway
Remember Laura Bennett from Project Runway Season 3? Well, she wrote a book ... "Didn't I Feed You Yesterday?"... but maybe you already know that.
Just got it from the library and read it in one day. It's mostly about her kids and only a little bit about Project Runway. I thought it was an interesting picture of living in Manhatten, an interesting take on raising children and just a little bit trashy about everything. She's pretty funny and very readable ... just what you'd want in a book for a commute or airplane ride or a long wait in the dentist's office.
I loved her description of a Disney cruise (LOL) and was happy to see that she had one more opportunity to criticize Jeffery (which he deserves).
My vote: BORROW IT

And here's the PR part: Susan showed me the Tim Gunn Facebook video blog page. Again, you probably already all know about this ... if not, add it to your Favorites.
