Hey I forgot to create a title the first time ... whew ... now there is a title!

how did the time slip by? ... if only I had purchased the very first books in Miss Grafton's series my retirement portfolio would be REALLY worth something ... but I started buying around "E" and continue to buy each title ... which of course is not to say I have read each one ... I might have stopped reading around "N" ... anyway my thoughts about "U" are that Grafton really created the 1960s, so believable ... but when I spotted a clue -- which I seldom do -- I was a bit disappointed ... there was a moment when one of the "mothers" tell Kinsey something about hearing a motor scooter the day the little girl disappeared ... "wait" I said ... "didn't I just read a few pages ago about one of those creepy teenagers owning a scooter"? ... maybe the story idea was that all the clues were right out there and it was more about why ... also I was a wee bit disappointed that the story line of the older hunky guy down the road from Santa Barbara/Theresa whose son owned the wolf went no where with regards to him hooking up with Kinsey ... surely there could have been time to develop that!!!!! ... will of course always read and it is only the anal retentive librarian side of me that continues to purchase

  1. Great review, Ms. B. Maybe we should capture our entire (all 4!!!) exchange in email form and send it to Ms. Grafton, along with our suggestion that the hunky guy be allowed to reappear in Kinsey's next adventure because long-term fans such as the 4 of us think Kinsey's gone WAY too long without a love interest.

  2. regarding contacting Ms Grafton ... years ago when she did heaps of signings I got myself on her "friends of Sue" mailing list and EVERY year she sends me -- well I am sure it is her secretary -- a Christmas card ... the greetings are from Sue and Kinsey ... some years I get two mailings from Ms Grafton ... the second being a little (i.e. coaster for a drinkie poo, key chain, etc.) tchotchke related to the new book ... bottom line I do have a Santa Barbara P.O. for Ms Grafton

  3. This is a great idea. We should take advantage of Ms. B the Younger's inside access. We cannot be too critical, however, or Brenda will be kicked off the Christmas card list.
